Hugo Boss | Campus Expansion Metzingen
Workplace Strategie
A campus addition with its own identity.
Strategic support for the campus expansion with the goal of developing a new corporate environment that becomes part of the existing campus structure while creating new qualities for collaboration, interaction and focused work.
With the expansion of the existing campus, the challenge was to develop a new building type within an established corporate environment. The open building structure, featuring an atrium and multiple levels, created opportunities for new forms of connection and collaboration. At the same time, the different requirements of the teams using the space needed to be considered, creating a balance between transparency, shared spaces and individual areas for focus and retreat.
The focus was on developing a workplace strategy that defined guiding principles for the use of the building. This included identifying where openness and interaction should be encouraged, where more protected environments were needed and how community spaces could be strategically positioned within the architecture and circulation areas.
Together with user representatives, interior architects and other stakeholders, these requirements were explored, discussed and refined through co-design workshops. Based on the architectural framework, usage concepts were further developed and spatial solutions created that address the needs of individual teams while supporting the overall campus identity.
The development of the building was not considered in isolation, but as part of the wider campus ecosystem. The aim was to create a place that fits naturally within the existing environment while introducing new opportunities for collaboration and strengthening the connection between people, culture and brand.
A key element of the project was the integration of strategic workplace development, user perspectives and architectural context. Through the collaborative development of spatial principles, the foundation was created for a campus addition that supports different ways of working and can continue to evolve with the needs of the organisation.
